Step on the Appalachian Trail or Baxter State Park trail from your campsite! The rafting takeout for our Penobscot trips is just minutes downstream from the campground.

It’s just a short 10-mile ride up to the Penobscot Rafting trips put-in at McKay station and you’ll end your trip just three miles from the Campground. No long shuttles on buses to and from the river! Enjoy your exciting wilderness Penobscot rafting trip and be back to your cozy campsite within minutes of the takeout for a cold brew and blow-your-mind sunset viewing across the river. Campground Services and Amenities
You can choose from tent campsites, RV campsites, and rustic bunkhouses at Abol Bridge Campground. There’s a full service restaurant and bar, The Northern, where you can get a great meal, good coffee, and a Maine micro brew, if you don't like cooking out at your campsite. Now that's roughing it in style! There's also a small general store. Yes, there is a small boat launch and beach as well - bring that canoe!! There is no reliable cell service at Abol Bridge but there is WiFi at the campground.
Rip Dam Cabins - Just Up River from Abol Bridge
Just 15 minutes up the road from Abol Bridge Campground is Rip Dam Cabins, offering cabin accommodations. Located at Ripogenus Dam, on
the Penobscot just upstream from Abol Bridge. And minutes away from McKay station, our rafting put in site.
